Todays coupon deal

I would highly recommend that you get the Tuesday Oregonian.  In the food day section today there is a coupon for $10 off of $50 good at Safeway.  It also has a coupon for chicken breasts for $1.79 lb.  The week that has the first day of the month( on that Tueday) these coupons regularly come out.  Now to even make my money go farther I use coupons, ecoupons and  buy the things on special that my family will use.  This is also a really good way to get meat inexpensively or even paper products.

Where do I get all my coupons?

I have recently been asked by several people where do I get all my coupons.  Now realize that I have been doing coupons for several years and find coupons almost any where.  ( I even found some when we where in Hawaii last year)

First off, the Sunday paper.  I have the Oregonian delivered and send my son over to Walmart and he picks me up a couple Statesman Journals ( they are only a $1 each).  This is a great place to get coupons.  Some I use that week but others I save until there is a really good sale.

Next I have several printable sites that I print coupons off of.  They are

and redplum.com
There are also the manufacturers sites that many times have coupons and facebook has increasingly become a really good place for coupons.

There are also lots of coupons at the stores.  The stores have coupons on the product( many couponers call them peelies, there are coupons on the shelves that are called blinkies or tearpads and then there are coupon booklets that are put out by the store.  These are really good ways to get lots of good value coupons.  I will pick up a few almost anytime that I go to the store.  Now with these kind of coupons there are ethical issues that many times arise.  Everyone wants the good deals, it is not fair to take all the coupons ( unless there are only a couple left) or peel off coupons that are on specific items( these are meant for whomever is buying that product).  Many times I will pick up coupons at the store and not use them until a couple of weeks down the road when the items goes on sale.

Last but not least I will trade with friends that have coupons for items that I use and give them coupons for items that I won't use. 

This is how I get a stockpile of coupons so that I am able to buy things for the lowest price.

first I bought the lotion $5.99 and both of the note pads
Spent $1.49  cash and used the register rewards.
got back $5 in register rewards

the second transaction was the Emergen C, the gum, and the fit bar
I used the register rewards from the first transaction and spent $1.12 cash
I got back $3.50 from the Emergen C and $2 from the fit bar in register rewards

6 packages of crescent rolls
1 O organics tea
I used the coupons from the coupon book that I told you about earlier this week on both the crescents and the Ore Ida potatoes.  the O organics tea was $1.19 and I  have a coupon I got a couple of months ago for $1 off any O organics product and it is something I really enjoy. 
I spent $3.65
and I got a catalina from buying the rolls for $3 on my next transaction

Todays Awesome Deal

Ok, so if you got the coupon book I told you about yesterday that is at Safeway there is another really good deal.
Pillsbury Cinnamon rolls, Crescent rolls and Grands Jr rolls ( these are the smaller packages) $1 each.
Buy 6 of any combination ( make sure you use the coupons that match the items you are buying) and use the coupons in Safeways coupon booklet for $1 off of 2 ( you will use 3 coupons)
Use the double coupon from the Safeway ad, you will spend out of pocket a whopping $1.50 and get back in catalina $3 ( now remember that this catalina can be used on anything you want to buy).

Safeway Coupon booklets to look for

I went to safeway today to takeadvantage of the caprisun deal in my previous post and found 2 really good coupon booklets out.  One of them i previously posted about but the other is new and came out today.

The one that says save $16 is the one I spoke about last week that they ran out of but now have in store.  The second is a new one and boy does it have good coupons.  I even used a coupon out of it today.

In todays add there is a coupon for $1.99 for Ore Ida potatoes, in the coupon book there is a coupon for $3 off of 2 .  That makes it only .49 for a bag of tater tots or french fries.  Nice and easy dinner addition.  there is also a coupon for $1.50 off of Steam and Mash potatoes by Ore Ida  and that makes them .49 also.  I think that is a nice quick addition to any dinner.

Caprisuns cheap- only through today 9-23

Here is a really good deal on Caprisuns that has to be done today.  It is an example of 2 promotions overlapping.  Right now at Safeway they are $1.99 each, but through today only, if you buy 5 they are only .99 each. The tag at the store says $1.99 but I just found out about this and tried it out a little while  ago. Last week they were on sale buy 5 get $5 off, well that sale actually ends today, not the usual Tuesday!!

If you are a soccer mom like me, you go through these pretty fast!!

E coupons

E coupons are one way to save money that does not take very much time.  There are 4 different companies that I use to do it and it usually takes me about 2 minutes per site to load.  These coupons come off of your bill automatically and there have been many times that they have come off that were a surprise to me.  The easiest way that I have found to access these sites is through the Safeway website.  You can go to Safeways website and go to their coupons tabs and load them.  the first time takes a little longer than any subsequent times.  It is nice because the websites email me when there are new coupons available.  Also you can use paper couupons along with them at least for now.

Right now the Ecoupons can be used at Safeway and Fred Meyer. The 3 sites that are on Safeway are the PGESAVER, CELLFIRE and SHORtCUTS. the 4th one that I talked about is U Promise, now where there is not instant savings there is a savings account. Just by shopping in the last year I have added $10 to my account with only minimal effort. Sure is worth looking into.

Free Post it notes

Here is todays freebie.  Staples has their post it notes for $1 a pack and the ad states that it also includes the Super Sticky pads.  Well, on 3M s site their is a coupon for $1 off, as well as coupons from the paper that came out on 8/15/10.  On their site the coupn is in PDF form, normally I am a little sceptical of coupons in PDF form, this is directly from their website so I know that it is a valid coupon.  The cool thing with PDF coupons is there is an unlimited print.  It does seem rediculous to waste 100 pieces of paper and the ink for printing just to get 100 of some thing free.  But a couple of pieces and a little bit of ink doesn't seem to bother me.

Today I shopped at both Rite Aid and Walgreens. I had a register reward that was expiring at Walgreens and had to use it up. The gum came out free because it was on clearance and I had coupons. The air wick were on sale and were free with coupons. The lotion and the Thermocare gave me new Register Rewards. I only paid $2.61 cash for all this and I now have $5.50 to use on another transaction!!

My teenagers love that I have so much gum and it is great incentive to use for the kids in quizzing!!

Free Diapers

Bought 3 packages of diapers. Now those of you that know be I do not have any young ones and am not expecting any. It would be an absolute miracle if I was. I do however have many friends that are pregnant and I hope to be attending several baby showers soon.

Now I only paid out of pocket .96 and this was on a gift card .  But I did get back $7 in +up rewards from Rite Aid and i will receive a $10 gift card from Rite Aid.

Well anyone that has taken my coupon class knows that I have not bought a pair  of underwear for over 2 years.  Now before you think I am a total nut let me tell you how and why.  First of all I signed up to receive emails and catalogs from Victorias Secret.  Every month to 6 weeks get a coupon in the mail for free panties, no purchase necessary; I don't make a special trip to Victorias Secret every time one comes, but I do plan on swinging by when I am in Salem; If you want to get free underwear too you can sign up at

Todays Coupon deal- Safeway

I am now just posting one coupon deal a day. Yes I could post more but many people have told me it is too overwhelming.
Todays deal is not free just a really good deal.

Safeway has Hefty garbage bags on sale for $5.99
Not a bad deal! Now if you got the Safeway coupon book I talked about on Thursday then you should have coupons inside that book for $2 off Hefty bags. ( this coupon book you can pick up in the store on the same isle as the bags, it is a 5 inch yellow square) Well the deal is even better if you buy 3. Here how the math looks.
Buy 3 boxes @ $5.99 = $17.97
use 3 coupons for $2 off = $11.97
use double coupon from Safeway ad = $10.47 ( they will only double up to .50 for each coupon.)
Then you will get back a $5 catalina making the total cost only $5.47 for 3 boxes. This brings the cost of each box to only $1.83. These are my favorite garbage bags at a really good deal!!!

Another easy beginner coupon deal- At Albertsons

Here is another easy coupon deal that you can do without having the coupons on hand. You do have to have a printer though.

There are coupons right in front of the Finish Quantamatic for $3 off. They are on sale for $4.99 and then you can use a double ( it only takes another .50 off) to get it for $1.49. Now that is some cheap dishwasher soap.

Well here is the deal on the scrubbing bubbles at Safeway.

First off there are coupon books nearby that say save $16
grab 3 of them!
There are coupons for $2 off of 2 scrubbing bubbles inside!
Pick up 6 bottles of scrubbing bubbles @ 2 for $5.
use 3 coupons and the Safeway double from their ad.
Pay out of pocket $7.50 and then here is the fun part! You will receive back 3- $2 off anything catalinas and 1- $5 catalina. These can be used on almost anything in the store. That is how I make money shopping!!
